What remade parts are needed?
« on: September 09, 2009, 08:39:11 PM »
I have now retired and looking for something to spend time on,  I know there are a few people making stone parts. Any one have any ideas of parts that are hard to get, or should i say, can not find?

Please list me some ideas of parts that need to be made.  Perhaps Richard Clark could give me some ideas as he perhaps know the needs bestbut anyone please list me//

Sam

Good idea and good question.  We have many parts that are available as Bridgestone reproductions or replacements, some even by the same company that built the parts for Bridgestone originally!

Since we only have a few left in stock, our next project was to have a quality 350 clutch plate made, it you want to take over this project, I will be more than happy to turn over the drawing and specs that we have.  I  will be happy to sell them for you. Please contact me directly.

Thanks

There always seem to be people needing clutch plates, and since Richard said he is running short on them, I think these sound like a good idea.  Luke

Re: clutch plates - if someone thinks about getting some made - if Tribco is still in business, there is a note on Scott's web site that they would reface plates with Kevlar for $25. Bert Lilley had some of these, so he might know how well the material works. There is a wide variation in friction characteristics with different materials, and Kevlar may not be what is needed. With today's technology, it should be easy and cheap to get cores cut with laser or water jet from plate stock with no die costs.

New member here.  I have what I believe to be a 1966 DT175.  Sat in machine shed since mid 1970s.  Lots of damage from sitting.  All rubber bad, all cables bad.  No brake/clutch/shift levers.  Chain bad.  Want all new bearings and gaskets.  I would like to know how to find out what is available now new and what I need to be looking for used or have rebuilt.  Simple as finding the list on the web page?  I have not yet.  Takes a phone call?

Thank you,
Shawn (Moochie)

Please  send me a complete list of parts you need. Part
numbers and description is best.  Part number manuals are available in the DOWNLOAD
section of this site.

Please send to my personal mail address:     bsparts@aye.net
to keep from conducting business on this site.

Thanks

BS guys:

I have turned the 350 clutch plate project over to Richard Clark, there was much more involved that I expected. :o

Drawings have been made, and production is ready to go.  Richard is in a better position to stock and supply these
plates to the BS world.

Many thanks for the many inquires and the 4 pre orders.  Maybe I will try something at a later date.

Please everyone contact Mr Clark for these

How about the generator?  I'm trying to source a replacement and am not getting any responses from anyone.

Which mufflers are you needing? If you tell us, maybe someone here could help you out.

Mufflers and throttle cable for 175 dual twin. They seem to be impossible to find in good condition. I would be your first customer!

I've got a spare right muffler for a 175 Dual Twin.....has some dings in it and would need to be rechromed, but no rust.

GTR carb cover
Do you mean the one in the air box or the cable cover, or both?

If I can borrow a good one, I can make a mold and cast new ones.

See here : http://edpauchchryslerparts.blogspot.com/

See them on fleabay, no?
