New member in Kansas City
« on: July 31, 2015, 02:33:31 PM »
Hi everyone. I just picked up a sad Bridgestone 90 Trail--a 1967 I think. It needs a miracle. It's been years since I had a project bike and I'll probably have some pretty dumb questions to ask!

Welcome to the site and the Bridgestone sickness........ be careful they're addictive and can ruin your bank account.    :D ;D :D
Ask as many dumb questions as you like, we all started there and are here to help. Looks like a good complete machine, does she turn over?

Hi Brian,

Thanx for responding. She does turn over--thank goodness. I'm going to start taking her apart this weekend and see if I can figure out what's what.

Definitely not the saddest we've seen. She'll be a beauty in no time. Good luck and ask away. As Brian says, be prepared for the creeping BS addiction.  ;D

Welcome to the group!  Here's a link to the serial number ID guide.  Go to the second page to look up the month and year your bike was made.  Use the Rockford Motors tag under/below the oil tank on the frame right side.

Hope you enjoy your new bike! Steve

Thanks very much, Steve. Looks like my bike is from May of 1966, when I would have been 8 years old!

Welcome, I have also recently joined.  The support and advice from this site is outstanding.  I am glad I joined the group.  There is a lot of knowledge with experience to back it up.

Best of luck

Here is a photo of the 90 I picked up.  The motors are on the back of the trailer.  Makes yours look great.
