1969 DT175 serial & engine number locations

I'm having trouble with the state because I don't have a valid engine number. The previous owner never had one on the title either. Need help with location.

Hi i had the same problem last year trying to find mine. if you look at the r/h side of the bike, just in front of the kick start lever on the clutch case, there should be a small raised lug about 30mm long and 6 mm deep, the engine no should be on this, or if the alloy VIM plate is still on which is just above the oil tank were the frame tubes meet by the rear shock absorber this should also carry the no. good luck
