Title: Alternate BS 350 Fuel Cock
Post by: rwgibbon on August 25, 2019, 06:38:29 PM
Has anyone  come up with a good alternative to the original 22 MM Bridgestone 350 fuel cock?

I'm restoring a BS 350 GTR as a rider and do not want to spend the money for a NOS Fuel Cock.

Restoring the original fuel cock is not an option.

I did a search on this site and did not find any. Scott's Bridgestone recommends a Kawasaki Z1 900.
I have not found a good quality alternative yet.

Recommendations are appreciated.

Thank you.

Randy

Hi Randy,

Richard has internal kits to restore taps.

If it's more than the internals corroded, what is wrong / missing from your existing one ?

The stock petcock is easily rebuilt with the kit from Richard Clark. If the body is too far gone the petcock for the Z1 Kawasaki is a good replacement.

Hi Randy,

Why not get a kit from Richard, he probably has a good rebuildable petcock for next to nothing. You could clean it up and install the new kit. A lot easier than looking for a different replacement and cheaper than a new one. Just my thoughts.

Randy, this one might be your answer...... but you'll have to open up your wallet! As a plus, you wouldn't have to worry about gas flow!  :o

This one is about $10 cheaper, if you don't mind the brass(?) nozzles....

Or save even more on eBay.....

I am with Mike Anderson, I think its best to use a correct original fuel tap and one of Richard's rebuild kits, hey he may have a petcock too.  Sam Keys.

The 5/16 outlets on the Pingel valves may be a problem, could be difficult to stretch the necessary, relatively small diameter fuel tube over the spigots.

Randy, I do have a new, non BS fuel tap that I will probably never use. Will dig it out of my spares stash and pm you with photo, if it can be attached. Came off the GTO, sure we can sort out a trade.                             Brian.

Finally found it. Tap does fit, can be configured to left or right lever operation and I will fit a second filter to the main supply. Let me know if you are interested or anyone else come to that.                                           Brian
