Easternstar
« on: December 25, 2014, 04:11:28 PM »
I ended up with a running riding, Easternstar 90cc.  It is the Taiwanese copy of a Bridgestone, I am curious if parts interchange and if quality was as horid as some other Taiwan made bikes.  I thought I read that they had factories in Taiwan so I figured they could have actually been made in the same factory and rebadged.  Thanks

Hi declan1984, welcome to the site & congrats on your new bike. I can't offer you much assistance on your questions, as I don't know enough about the Taiwan bikes but was curious if this is the bike you just picked up.

I saw this listing a while back and wondered about it myself...... If this is the one you got, it's a good looking little bike.

That is my bike, I have it for sale to try to take the burn off of some car repairs but if it doesn't sell I wont be sad.  I have a lot of vintage mopeds including Triped Microcar, this eastern star that came in a trade from a friend, and a 1966 Yamaha YL1.

hi , are you sure this is a copy of the bridgestone engines , it realy looks to be more from the early yamaha single cyclinder motors , that was later used on some of the gemini mini bikes , even the insturments look like the yamaha, thanks william

Right side of engine looks more Yamaha than BS. But I think the cylinder and head look more BS than Yamaha. Is that an air cleaner housing behind the cylinder? Eastern Star may have taken features/design from both companies.
