Suspension - advice on setting sag, compression and rebound.
« on: October 24, 2019, 06:35:41 AM »
I'm currently sizing up getting the suspension working on a 90 Mountain.....

As you all would know, sag, compression and rebound depends mostly on spring weights, oil viscosities, oil quantity, air gap, dampening rod hole sizes ect ect.

I'd be interested to hear about what experiences people have had with the front forks, and if they have actually found a combination that even sort of works.

And the back shocks, they would be fully sealed units without even the ability to change the fluid, wouldn't they?

Regards, Greg

I would also like to hear anyone’s insights on this topic. I’m currently trying to figure out how to disassemble the leaky front forks on my ‘64 90 STD to replace oil seals and, while in there, make suitable adjustments to (hopefully) accommodate my 200lbs. Such as adding spacers to the springs, etc.

Now that some time has passed are you going to give US advice? ;D I'm getting a 67' 100 TMX back to into shape so eventually I've have to figure this out.
