Clutch Hub Ring Nut Removal

Any ideas on how to remove the clutch hub ring nut if one does not have the clutch basket hold tool? Thanks in advance!

Fiinally figured it out (with help from my local, independent m/c shop): The driven gear is removed by gently heating around the inner clutch hub where the splines from the driven gear poke thru the clutch hub. A little wack with a brass hammer on the splines, and the gear pops off. The service manual is very vague on how to remove the driven gear.

       Apologies if I've mis-understood your post.
  The driven gear should simply slide off the gearbox input shaft once the crankcase inner cover has been removed, no force required.
         If you are refering to the clutch basket, once the ring nut is removed, it is only held in place by 'stiction' due to its oil seal, an Oring and a close fit on the splines. Manual shows it being removed using the service tool puller. It can also be pushed off using 6mm screws in the 3 holes at the back of the basket but go evenly and steady, it is pushing against the inner cover and will leave 3 marks in the alloy.
        Once it has been removed, the basket can usually be waggled off the splines with your fingers, if you ever need to remove it again.

        I've just realised that you may have removed the inner side cover with the clutch basket in place which would bring the driven gear with it and is do-able. Basket is usually pulled off the splines before removing the side cover. Hope the heat hasn't affected the two oil seals and 0ring which seal the clutch chamber.
