ignition points, sorry if this has been covered already

i have a 175HS and am having a hard time finding points for it (came with out). i know somewhere it says that KZ1000 points will fir but i ordered a pair and they dont line up with the holes on the plate. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

It's the A1/A7 points that fit.  See Scott's site   http://www.bridgestonemotorcycle.com/parts.htm.  Those only fit the later version of the 175 alternator that runs at engine speed.  They don't work on the earlier version that runs 1/2 engine speed.  I'm not certain if there is an alternate for the early version.

Download the service letters   http://bridgestonemotorcycleparts.com/PDF/BSServiceLetters.pdf  , check out page 24 of the PDF.  There are actually 3 separate setups; most fall into either the first version or into the last after S/N 16L-20758.  A few are the second variety between Serial No. 16G-11761 up to Serial No. 16L-20757.

mine is like the last vesion with the condensers on the bottom, does that mean its a later version?

Yes.  You can confirm with the S/N on your engine. The A1/A7 points should work. However, contact Richard and/or CPC first and get the "real" thing and support the BS parts suppliers.
