That's nice of you Smokey to offer help. I could use some myself in the near future when I finish a couple of my bikes. I gotta sell something to get my GTR going.

I dislike sellers on Craigslist that use phrases such as "Price is firm, don't even bother to ask." or "If you're not serious DON'T WASTE MY TIME" or "Don't come expecting a new bike". Anything negative or accusing just turns me off. No doubt they have had some undesirable experiences but acting a jerk is not gonna help them sell their bike.

Price is firm no offers is fine. But sarcastic remarks I don't like. I know there are

To say your price is firm and you won't accept offers is fine, but sarcastic remarks, I don't like regardless of your past experiences. I've dealt with the public many years and have met all kinds, but you still should be respectful. It's so hard to be humble when I'm so perfect ;D

I have never been a registered seller on ebay. Bought some things there, and the Ducati came there. I don't like to buy things without seeing and touching them, but the Ducati worked out fine after some waiting.
I would probably start with craigslist and see what happens with no fees incurred.
Or if it was a Bridgestone I would start here.

scott,
I'm curious to know, as I am sure others are too, whether you've had any nibbles on your bike?
Hope the collective commentary didn't scare you off or tick you off.
I think everyone was just trying to be helpful.
I see it has been a week since you were last active here and I also see you haven't done anything regarding suggestions made here about photos and more detailed info.
As I said before, how you handle this is up to you, but I don't see this going the direction you are likely hoping for at the moment.
My best estimate is you've had zero inquiries........and I have to honestly say IMO, if that's the case, it's because of your lack of good photos and very minimal detail and information for a potential buyer to mull over.

Good luck.

Regards,
Steve

Yeah Scott, I hope you don't take anything I said wrong. I don't even know what I said. Workin 7- 12's at my stage of the game, you get sidetracked a lot. Like zt said, like to hear from you. I'm sure someone here is interested in your bike, if you haven't already sold it. I know a multitude of visitors look at this site daily, too. Personally, I'd just like to see some pics of your bike and maybe a little background on it.

There is a new forum member (as of last night) who is looking for a GTR.
His profile doesn't say where he's located.......shipping cost are certainly a consideration now.
This might be the buyer Scott is looking for.

Scott, if you like, you can email me your photos and I will shrink them and email them back to you to post where ever you like. Just send me a private message if that's something you'd like to do and I'll p.m. you my email address.

The new member al must be from Oz then.
I got a PM from him after PMing him about this thread and he said he "gave him a ring" (scott).
It's not everyday any of us get a phone call from Down Under....... ;)
Any of you other Aussies know this new member?
Sounds like he is really seriously hunting for a GTR.
Seriously.

4 or 5 years ago, this probably wouldn't have been happening.
I remember when the AUD was worth roughly 60 cents on the US dollar at that time, and the value of the currency and the exchange rate made importing into Oz a very tough and pricey deal. With the AUD worth more than the US dollar now, that situation has largely reversed itself.
