SUZUKI RG500 GAMMA.

I have been working on a lot of Bridgestone lately and i have a big interest in two strokes again!( worked on a lot of four strokes engines)
And i have been looking at the Suzuki RG500 GAMMA the specification on the engine etc.
Displacement 498cc Configuration square four water cooled disc valve two stroke 95HP@9500 rpm max torque 42.8lb @ 9000 rpm.
Compression ratio 7.0.1 the engine has immense potential to be modified to deliver 140HP it just reminds that if Bridgestone where

I think that was a bike I looked at more than once recently on ebay.
It wasn't going to go cheap either.

Are you serious? I've never even heard of one of those. Do a Google search and there are some awesome vids, one says 145 HP!!!

Where did they sell those?? Not the US I'll bet....

You can buy a Suzuki Gamma in the USA there are some for sale in Florida etc.

The large 2-strokes are pretty cool indeed.  They had a great blow-out between the Suzuki RG500 Gamma, Yamaha RD500LC, and Honda NS400R in issue 5 of Practical Sportsbikes.  It was hardly fair to bring the Honda into the comparison as a three cylinder with 100cc less than the Suz and Yam, but it was superior in build quality and handling according to the piece.

I might be proven wrong, but I believe the one I saw on ebay a few weeks ago was brought in from Canada and had only kilometers for the speedometer readout and was being offered in California.

in the mid eighty's these bikes were every where here in oz we grew up on this sort of stuff a few of my mates had the rg's i was a yam man i had the rz500 or (rd500lc) these bikes here were unrestricted and were racing bikes with blinkers .it was mind blowing stuff . i really don't know how i survived those times there was a rg here that they were asking $20000 absolutely mint and low miles seeing the rz's are fetching up to around $15000 now i think that's probably a fair price these bikes are becoming very collectable and i would love to have a couple in my shed . these bikes will blow modern bike out of the water .cheers
