71 TMX 100
« on: October 06, 2014, 12:43:45 PM »
Hello from Iowa. Found this bike on craigslist and had to google what a Bridgestone motorcycle was. Loved the back story and history of the bike so i had to picked it up. Its rough but all parts seem to be there. Everything seems to be there but some parts are a little rough, including the wiring and a broken fork.  I do have the seat and its in pretty good condition except its missing the bracket to connect to the bike. Doesnt start at the moment but i have spark and compression. Going to clean the carb and see if it fires. Once i get it running im going to tear it down and restore it as much as possible.

Yep, plenty of "backstory" on these babies! Enjoy your find. There are lots of willing helpers and experts here, so ask questions and keep us all informed of your progress. For parts, Richard Clark (site owner) has most everything you'll need. Just click the "Click here for parts" button above. You also find an applicable 100 manual in the Manual Downloads section. Welcome to the party!

Sounds good! Right now my main worry is the fork and also rear wheel has some missing spokes.

one is broke off where the axle bolts up. Previous owner used some mechanics wire to hold it on.

Also going to need the front brake lever assembly and grips. First priority is get it running first though.
