I have a Bridgestone 200 MKIISS that sat in my basement tooo long. It sat because I didn't know where to get parts.
Took it out last week. Cleaned the gas tank with carb cleaner (that's why the paint is gone off the tank), cleaned the carbs ( I thought sure I drained them), put in new carb gaskets and carb top (Thanks to Richard's Relics), new plugs, new oil in the injector and gearbox. Little bit of choke. Two kicks. She fired right up and settled down into a nice idle. Little bit smokey, but hey I'm used to four strokes nowadays. Everything worked on the bike so I decided a little test drive was in order. All the gears were of course down. Ran it up to fourth gear to an indicated 60 mph....then what the heck the neutral light came on when I shifted to fifth...oh yeah..rotary gearbox. Stopped and switched it over to 5 speed for the trip back home. I have only driven this thing about 15 miles around the house, but what a neat little bike.
Best of all it doesn't sound like a Harley. Actually it doesn't sound like anything on the road nowadays. Lots of people love to take a peek.
Only problem I have had is a big puddle of gas when I forgot to shut off the petcock. Guess the float valves might need a little more cleaning.
I did put the bike up for sale on this site as I will be moving in the not too distant future and won't have storage space. There are pics there also, as I couldn't figure out how to put them here. Give me a shout if there is any interest. This thing needs to be out and about and not sitting for another 10 to 15 years.
