The gas tank I have is rusty and I was wondering if there is a good way to restore it so I can use it again.

Yup !!!!most bike shops sell a thing called Kream 8) it a kit to clean and seal gas tanks.... ive used it for over 20 years on tanks... just fol the in. and it will work out ok..... but you have take the gas tap off and fill that hole with something????? :o

I use POR 15. good stuff.
Follow the directions.
This stuff is supposed to be great too:

I use Redkote, and it has always worked great. Make sure it's ethanol resistant. All of these sealers require you to follow the instructions exactly or you will risk it breaking down or peeling.

+1 on POR15
If the rust is not that bad and the tank is not leaking, YAMALUBE FUEL TANK RUST REMOVER & NEUTRALIZER KIT will work too.
This one does not put sealant layer so not subject to the peeling.
