A number of rim brands are available in 1.85, 2.15, 2.5, etc X 18 sizes, so there are lots of great choices including flange style rims - be aware of dimpled vs non-dimpled rims checking to see if the spokes will fit. Pick your tire sizes and then use rims the correct width for those tires - all the tire companies have charts. Buchanan's (no relation) will give you straight answers on what spokes fit what. If you can find appropriate sized "MT" stamped rims, the spokes can be sealed and run tubeless for a lighter wheel assembly, but for example Excel (I think) only starts the "MT" profile at 2.5.
