SIDE STAND
« on: April 26, 2012, 09:48:26 PM »
Would someone be so kind as to measure the length of their factory side stand from the GTR. From the foot, to the center of the bolt hole. Thanks, Mark.

I measured 8 1/4" from center of bolt to the 'top' of the foot piece.

Thanks for the time spent BSF. I currently have an H1 stand. I need to know the total length from center of bolt hole to the bottom of the foot, or to the floor in other words. (SORRY-MY FAULT). When the bike regains its proper stature, its going to be a tad-bit higher in the center and the H1 stand might be too short. Thanks very much.  Mark.

If you are asking the question because your GTR leans over too far on the side stand, it may be that someone has fitted a 175/200 side stand. It will "fit", but with 19"" wheels on the GTR (compared to the 18"" on the 175) tehe 350 will lean right over on its ear. The 175/200 stand is identifiable because the leg and foot are manufactured from one steel pressing, whereas teh 350 stand is welded up from tube with a separate flat steel foot.

Thanks DV. The bike currently has an additional 2" in the swingarm, moving the shocks lower mounting point rearward. It lays the shocks down and drops the height. When I find a stock swingarm to replace it with, The stand will likely be too short. If it dips too far, I'll be looking for a stand too. Thanks, Mark.

Rocketman, if you struggle to find a stock GTR swinging arm I have one you can have, needs a little repair to one of the suspension lugs though.

Thanks for the kindly offer Lee. I'll keep it under my cap. Might have one a little closer to home.  Thanks, Mark.
