It's such a small world.

The bike shown on the second page belonged to Dennis Lodge as stated and that's a young Dennis beside his GTR, he's in his mid sixties now and I know him quite well as part of the VJMC, we always have a good chat when ever we meet up.

The last time we met was at the Stafford show last October and I told him I'd just bought a non running GTR but still hadn't picked it up, it was then that he told me he had a passion for Bridgestones and had owned a number of models in the past. He never mentioned the magazine article though.

Thanks for that Steve, really enjoyed reading it especially with the owner connection.

Browse through this link to his motorcycle shop, he's still a keen motorcyclist and business man.

http://www.billsmithmotors.co.uk/pages/about-us/our-heritage.htm

I'm no race bike fan but on a few of the photos I can't put a name to faces but I recognise them.

Also there is a liitle about him here.

Bill Smith.
The things i remember about Bill Smith apart from all the racing is this i had a small motorcycle shop in Prestatyn N Wales.
Bill was a very big Honda dealer so if you needed any Honda parts and i have always used genuine Honda gaskets.
You could call him and the parts would be there by Friday by van, his shop was about 30 miles away in Chester.
Dealer prices so you could sell your parts and give the customer a discount and still make a fair profit.
Plus he would sell you motorcycles at dealer prices delved to your door,he helped a lot of small motorcycle shops
Get going me included he was very easy to deal with, those where great days!
If you go to Bill Smith motors in Chester UK and see the great pictures about his heritage and the Bridgestone and Honda racing
Its all there.
Thanks.
Steve.

Steve,
Looks to me like you have a couple of wrong characters in the web address you cited.
All it takes is one wrong character and things won't work, or you wind up somewhere unintended.

Try this one: http://www.billsmithmotors.co.uk/

Steve
