I need help! (with my carb)
« on: March 28, 2016, 04:12:37 AM »
1965 90M in Brisbane, Australia.

It's my duty as an Aussie bloke to resist asking for help for as long as possible, OK I've put it off long enough so here it is.

Is there anyone here I can send my carb to be fixed?
I've cleaned it, put in new needle and seat (1.5), checked the numbers on the jets, played with float height.
There's way too much fuel going through, I can start it OK but the throttle has to be half open for it to run. It won't rev up, just coughs and splutters.
I fitted this carb I got from ebay and it runs fine.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/racing-carb-carburetor-carby-49-50-60-70cc-80cc-2-stroke-motorized-bike-bicycle-/221517986121?hash=item3393803949:g:DjoAAOSwnDZT5RAD

I'm looking for someone who would be prepared to have a look at it and see if they can fix it for me.
I'll cover all expenses, postage etc.

Ian.

A new one would be nice and may be more cost effective than fixing the old one. Where could I buy one Jeff?

Just cleaned and fitted my new (second hand) 51 year old BS90 carb I was lucky enough to find on ebay. It's in way better nick than my old one and my little motor is now running sweet.   :)
