Hi, new member located on long island ny.  I picked up a 1968(?) 200 cc bike as part of another bike deal.  I thought it was a moped and was going to give it away once I got it home.  Did a little research and realized it was a pretty cool machine.  Ive already used info from the site cleaning up the bike, I intend to make it a race rep with fairings, but a stock engine tune.  I will try to post some pics of the rebuild.

Welcome to the site!
That sounds like a fun project to make with the 200.
Looking forward to seeing more photos of a Bridgestone.

Snapped a pic of my project.  The frame has been degreased and sprayed (krylon), also polished up the rims and brakes.  The transmission was frozen, so I opened it up for inspection- it looks like some moisture got in and froze up the shift drum and 1 bearing with surface rust.  Cleaned it all up and changed the bearing.  I also cracked a piston ring on disassembly of the cylinders (I was pretty rough trying to figure out what kind of bike it was), installed in a new one and buttoned it back up.  Right now I am waiting for a new oil pump to come in, the original was kind of buggered and was missing a check valve. I hope to test the motor this weekend.  If all is well I will move on to the bodywork- I would like to set this up as a racer with an airtech fairing  (the original tank looks pretty bad currently).  I was going to buy an airtech tank also, but now I am thinking I will fabricate a steel tank since I don't see any difficult compound curves to deal with.  The ethanol in pump gas makes me worry about fiberglass tanks.  Tony

Welcome to the fun Tony. Looks like a nice project. Here's a thread started by al_pritchard.

He is building a racer and is using some fiber glass stuff (I think from Airtech).
I'm sure you will find some other tidbits in there are well. Al is doing some vely intelestink stuff. ;D
