175 vs 200

(1/1)

pallmall:
is the 175 and the 200 r the same will the parts fix 175 thank jimmpall

OldSwartout:
The only non-interchangeable situation is that the 200 cylinders won't fit 175 crankcases.  The spigot on the 200 cylinders is slightly larger.  A machine shop could fix it, either by machining the bore in the cases or taking a little off the 200 cylinders (never done it, but I think there is really enough stock).  The other way around - 175 cylinders on a 200 case probably would work, although the positioning of the cylinders wouldn't be as accurate, but I think the base of the studs would locate the cylinders pretty closely.

pallmall:
sorry i was talking abot fender and gastanks  acesories

OldSwartout:
Oops.

Most of the rest of the stuff is interchangeable.  Fenders, gas tank, seat, etc. will bolt on.  There are some differences and they are shown in the parts catalog downloadable from this site and others.  For instance, the 175DT headlight also holds the speedo, whereas on the 200 the speedo is separate.  However, you can use the 200 speedo and headlight to replace the headlight/speedo combo on a 175.  The 200 has a front brake light switch that the 175 didn't, affecting the wiring and the brake lever handlebar perch.  There are paint and seat cosmetic differences, also.
