a couple of bsa found
« on: June 19, 2011, 06:14:09 PM »
hi all i went up to Sydney for my welcome to old age  party on the weekend it was a bit of a flash back driving around the old suburbs were i grew  up anyway along time ago an old mate was doing up a bsa thunderbolt when he tragically died i heard that his brother acquired this bike and it was taken to another state.i  drove past his parents place  and to my surprise there was the front wheel leaning up against a tree poking out of the weeds  in the same spot that he and i were having a couple of beers and doing a little work to it in the winter sun  some 20 something years ago .i didn't go in and ask but there is a fair chance if the wheel is still there the rest of the bike will still be in the shed . if his parents want to part with it is another story .i bumped into another old friend who doesn't have much time left on earth  and he has a very nice 1969 bsa rocket 3 which has been in hiding for some years he asked me if i wanted to buy it and i said yes but i don't have the cash .i said the only thing i can offer you is $100 a week he said we can work something out maybe he just wants his bike to go to a good home  .  i will be going back in a few weeks to make arrangements i will take my camera this time

Wow... That would be so cool to find a few Beeza's around here. I was always kind of a BSA man myself.

i hope you get the deal done!
I have a tilt wheel for more headroom!

the rocket is such a nice bike i will send you some pictures in a few weeks .i have a bit of a moral problem though if i start paying him $100 per week and he  kicks the bucket i would feel guilty i suppose .the bike itself  at a guess would  be worth  around $12000+ au
