What is the rarest Bridgestone is it the GTR or the GTO!
Let me know.
Thanks.
Steve.

At this stage of the game I'd have to say both ;D
-
Rarest.....?
I'm conflicted about what that means.....
I mean no disrespect.....I'm just looking for clarification.

Steve

I have no facts to back this up, but over the years I've seen a handful of GTR's "in the wild" (on the streets) but only one real live GTO that I can remember.
The current number of each still surviving may be a different mix though.
Hope someone has some facts or statistics to shed some light on this question.

I don't know about actual production numbers but during the time when we had Bridgestone's at the kart shop I never saw a GTO. We did have one SR100 many 175's, 90's and 100's. I always rode a GTR. In the last 10yrs I have owned two GTO's and several GTR's. My guess is the production of the GTO's was pretty low.

I seem to remember Kotaro having some information about the GTOs, which suggested as few as 1000 were made. In two orders from Rockford Motors of 500 each.
Maybe someone can add some more light on this? John

Considering that they made GTRs beginning in 1967, and GTOs in 1969, I'd say the GTR would be the more common of the two uncommon machines.
-
I wonder how many GTO were shipped to the UK!
Thanks.
Steve.
-
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES IN THE 2 MODELS ?? THX
-
The GTR is the street touring version with downswept pipes. The GTO is the "scrambler" version with upswept pipes and a few other cosmetic differences like side covers and I believe the GTO uses a different set of bars, etc. Mark.

Mark
You forgot, you have to ride the GTO bow legged, just kidding ;D

Bill Smith Motors might have the answer to the UK import numbers.

Paul
I will ask him or send him a email.
Thanks.
Steve.

I've never seen a UK gto,but there is a UK gtr on eBay at the moment starts at £75.needs a little work though, search for bridgestone bike on eBay.UK.
-
There was a GTO on ebay UK about 2 or 3 years ago, it was red and rusty and sold for quite a high price. We never got GTOs in Australia, and not too many GTRs for that matter. I think including mine there may be 2 or 3 GTOs downunder. Cheers John
-
Fiction Please post the link for the GTO in the UK, as I ma a GTO fan

sorry SAM don't know how to put a link to the gtr but if you you go to eBay.co.UK and search all categories for bridgestone bike it comes up .must warn you its been on fire.think the UK title is worth more than the parts left.

In a E-mail (Quote) From Kataro to Tony O.
As far as my research, Bridgestone made GTO early model in November & December 1969, totally 1,000 only 2 months.Bridegstone started to product GTR from June 1967 to July 1968, totally 6782 then stopped to product 350cc linetill November 1969, 15 months then worked again to product early GTO.Again, Bridgestone stopped to product 350cc line till September 1970, 9 months then they started to product last lot of 350cctill March 1971, totally 1,000.I think this is the final production order from Rockford.I do not know how is the rate of GTR:GTO for this time.I just suggested later GTR:GTO = 500:500How do you think about this figure? I suggested total number of GTO is 1,500 around. Thank you, Kotaro
Hope This Helps. Thnaks: Tony O.
