So this thing would be worth 2 or 3 times what he is asking - if it were only in Boise.

Well I've got to give the guy credit for keeping his head out of the clouds and only asking $200 for a bike that just 500 were made and when restored could be worth $9000!  ;D

Besides, he's got rent to pay....

Which bike is for sale?  Two pictures of two different bikes.  Buyer beware!

First pic is the $9k dream, the second is the $200 reality!

Didn't notice the second pic until custom pipe was mentioned.................my expert eye tells me, might just need a few more parts than those listed but HEY ran beautifully 12 months ago...............yeeeeaaaaaah  ::)
Dealer in UK with the 5 small bikes for sale , as posted by Z, has the same attitude to pricing these 'megga' rare bikes. Are they confusing BS with Brough Superior  ??? ??? ;D

I find it amusing and at the same time quite odd that many folks advertise their old "barn find" Bridgestones with some description that includes "rare". I tried to explain to the guy in Hazleton, PA that has listed a 175DT on and off for the past several years at $750.00 (now currently down to $650.00) that while these bikes aren't really that common, they don't really qualify as rare. He told me I had no idea what I was talking about and that Bridgestone only made a couple hundred of each model. The bike in question has many missing parts and no title.

Another item that has been mentioned many times but often overlooked - especially by me - the title. I spoke with a guy at an auto tags place the other day and told him I had purchased an old bike with no title. He shook his head and laughed and then explained to me all of the issues with getting a title for a bike that probably hasnt been listed with the DMV for over 20 years. I don't think it can be overstated how important the title is. Many sellers state they have no title, just a bill of sale and then add how all you need to do is go to the DMV and request a duplicate title - as if they issue them like library cards.
