Had a Tora I trail rode, early 70's. I knew the next three owners,it's long gone now. One will come my way again some day. Thanks,Mark.

Thanks again for the posting Moonpup. Even though I don't think I can go for it,hopefully someone else a little closer can buy and enjoy it. Mark.

No problem Mark, shipping is always something one must consider when dealing with these eBay purchases. Sometimes, the seller won't even help on that end.

But hey, there's still no bids with a little over 1 day left, maybe you could actually snag it for the opening bid of just $300!  ;D

I see the auction is over. Regardless, I was down this road on shipping a bike. Though it is not cheap, it was cheaper than finding a bike close to home and they all needed tons of work which translates into money. It was cheaper to spend the money on shipping. If you get a chance and you want it, I am sure you could have that bike in your garage for well under a $1000. It takes very little re-chroming, parts and paint to exceed that on a bike that needs any of it. The bottom line is what will you have in the bike, by the time you are done. It matters little if it is done my shipping or done by spending money on the working on it. Good luck in your search!

Thanks for the input,Dave. Like a lot of things,it is a balancing act. I actually like the restoration work, when I can do it. The benefits of bringing back the dead are gratifying. Then theres the good feeling of dealing locally with people and the trust issues of not doing so. Good to hear from you. Thanks,Mark.

Here's a Feel Good story for you.  Well, it makes ME feel good anyway:

Back in college I rode a '72 Honda CB350, and a '74CB350F.  The year was 1984.  I used to ride them back and forth from Mt. Pleasant, MI to Midland MI as a co-op.  I impressed one of the chemists there who offered me his old bike- a '69 175 Hurricane Scrambler.  He just gave it to me because he "Knew I would take care of it".  One divorce, four job changes and 5 moves later, I moved to Grand Rapids, MI, and left the bike in a pole barn in Hemlock MI.  That was 15 years ago.  I called last week, and the bike was exactly where I left it.  In a dark room with no windows.  Hauled it home on 9-4-2010

It has 972 actual miles on it.  Just picked up a battery today, and I'll clean up the carbs tonight, hopefully.

You're smarter than I look!  That's just my profile image.  I just now uploaded the pics I have to My Images.
I was hosing out the carbs last night with carb cleaner, then sprayed some starting fluid in there, and kicked it over a few times.  She wanted to start!  I'm draining the oil tank now.  I'll put new oil in and some premix (just in case there's a plug of thick oil in the oil pump) in the tank and try to start her up tonight!
