Hello all, I live in southeastern PA. I've been collecting old bikes since i was a kid. About a year ago I came across a craigslist ad for an old Bridgestone over in New Jersey. Looked OK in the pics and the price was right so I took a ride out and picked it up. Story behind it is the kid that sold it to me found it in an old abandoned lawnmower shop, where it had apparently been sitting for about 35 years. He started to clean it up and spraypaint everything! Once I got into it, I could see that it needed much more help than I could have imagined. But I think it's a really cool unique bike and I've grown quite fond of it. Rebuilt the carbs and installed some new points, changed the gear oil and managed to get it running. Seemed to run very well despite it's decades-long slumber!. I've since dismantled it to its individual components and have begun to restore it. Purchased many parts from Richard and others and I now have most of what I need. Seems the paint and chrome are going to cost WAY more than I expected, so I guess I have to wait until the budget grows a little more. I also have a Taka that I got from a friend of mine when I was 16 or 17. It's been sitting in Mom's shed for about 16 years now but I have started to collect a few parts for it, someday I'll get around to restoring that one too!
