Greatings. My name is Dan, I'm a 26 year old Air Force B-52 mechanic, I have my FAA A&P certificate, and I've been working on old Japanese motorcycles since I was 12. I'm not new to bikes. I started out on a 1974 Honda CB360 and 1972 CL450. My current bikes are a 1978 Suzuki GS1000 and a 1997 Suzuki TL1000S. Plus, I'm currently doing an engine overhaul on a 1981 CB900C.
Now, for the reason I'm here. My grandfather just passed down his treasured motorcycle to me, a 1968 350 GTR. I've known he's had this bike my entire life and I've been lusting after it as long as I can remember. I never thought the day would come where I would be given his bike. I would love to show pictures of it but unfortunately I'm stationed 800 miles from my grandparents and haven't been able to pick it up yet.
The bike hasn't been ran in almost 40 years but it has always been stored in a well maintained shed, no cow barn milking parlor here. I'm sure it's in rough shape but I love a mechanical challenge. Don't let my age fool you, I'm more at home around breaker points, magnetos, and carburetors than I am around ECUs and fuel injection. I hope that this forum and its members will be a good source of information, inspiration, and old war stories about Bridgestone motorcycles. I look forward to talking with all of you.
