GTR350 Transmission
« on: June 17, 2010, 01:37:42 PM »
Need to know if this is normal. During assembly of the transmission I can get it to shift thru all the gears with gear shafts removed. (shift forks and drum assembly turn as they should)
When the gear shafts are installed it seems to only shift thru a couple gears. Checked all gears, shift forks and shafts can't see any problems. Is it that they need to be spinning good to get shifting thru all the gears.

You normally need to spin them a little (just slowly by hand works) to get the dogs to line up as you go through the gears.  A little oil on the sliding parts helps.
