Oil Tube Material

Is there anything special about the oil tubes other than they are clear to observe oil in them. Is nylon clear tube available at most hardware stores OK to use, so long as the size is similar to original? Looks like the originals are on my 350 and they are very still and yellow.  Thanks.

I believe the clear tubing available at most hardware stores is vinyl, which gets hard quickly, but normally won't crack, just makes it very hard to handle, remove, reinstall, etc.  However, fuel line available from a lawn mower or motorcycle shop or online supplier is generally good and normally available in transparent, although usually lightly colored.
