I assume that the position of the lever on the clutch release mechanism (inside the LH engine cover) should be in the roughly 9 o'clock position when the worm drive is seated in the hole in the cover? Service manual has no mention of this.
Also, what diameter is the ball bearing at the end of the clutch push rod, as mine is missing? Thanks in advance.

9 o'clock position is correct, when inserting the clutch release lever into the spiral actuator. Ball bearing is 1/4''.

Hi Kenneth,
Better to take the 8 o'clock position. The lever is then in the 9 o'clock position when you use the clutch! This results in a lighter clutch actuation.

That can explain why some of my 350 clutches are harder than others ld never thought of that on my last one it was completely wrong and was wearing away on the drive sprocket l moved it and l believe it is now at the nine o'clock position and it's reasonably soft but harder than others and couldn't understand why now what your saying could be the answer do you think it would improve moving it down
