I was asked about taking a BS90 to Deal's Gap. Here's my thoughts:
Pace doesn't really matter. The 90 wouldn't be able to keep up when riding with others or a group; however, it would be fun to ride around in the area anyway and get some attention. Several people bring two-strokes as small as 50cc and ride them in the area for the fun of it. There have been numerous runs through the Gap on minibikes and various other non-licensed two and three-wheelers late at night. The speed limit through the Dragon (Deal's Gap - US 129) is officially 30 MPH, although most exceed that at times (some, by a lot). Many people bring a larger bike, usually a modern 4-stroke, to ride. My brother takes a Triumph Trophy, I take my FJR. There will be plenty of modern bikes around. The activities center around the Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort in NC. The rooms are sold out, but you can camp there or there are plenty of other places to stay in the nearby area.
