FUSE HOLDERS.
« on: November 28, 2012, 10:08:09 PM »
Fuse holders,
On my GTR 350 i replaced the fuse holder, back in the day the old type fuse holder can be a problem with corrosion and the fuse moving
Around in the holder, and the case coming apart so i used a blade fuse holder in its place etc you can buy them at any car shop for
About 3.00 .
Thanks.
Steve.

Great solution Steve, I have had the original holders actually melt from the fuse getting loose and heating up. I will try those on the rest of my bikes.
Thanks Mike

I Want To Add A Opinion To This Post    There Are A Lot Of Things That Are Better Because Of Technoledgy    Do We Beleivre We Should Take Away Origonalty For A Better Product   This Was Brought Up Before When Over Restoration Or More Crome Was Used Than Originaly   I Restore Old Mopar Cars  And The More Original They Are The More Value They Bring As The Point Of Only On Restored   I Know You Cant See It & Its Better But  Maybe We Should Have A Post On Better Or Original   Always Fun And I Agee Its Safer & Better   GENE   PS  Where Do You Carry The Spare Fuse

If you're restoring for authenticity and collectability, I say go with the original.  If you're like me and want something to be somewhat reliable and practical, improvements are more than acceptable.

You hit the nail on the head there Jato.

Tip... I use the original fuse holder and wrap a couple of inches of clear tape around the plastic holder to stop it coming apart and you can't see it, then put the clip on.
