I have been following Bridgestone bikes for sometime now, might be buying a 175 soon, can anyone enlighten me on parts availabilty and views on the 175

Welcome to the site, especially if you take the ownership plunge.
I can't answer directly for the 175 parts, but this site owner (Richard Clark) has what was left when Rockford closed its doors.
As a ballpark guess, if you buy one with bad cylinder bores it could cost about $200 each to get them repaired and re-plated. Not to say that some NOS or good used ones aren't available, but they wouldn't be much cheaper.
A 175 would be fun around town or rural riding - I'm keeping my ears open for when my dad says he's ready to let go of his one owner '66 DT175

Welcome to a great site. It will largely depend on what you start with for restoration, but there's an enormous amount of support and information in the BS community. I'm in the West, and there are BS twins in the salvage yards here. This site has so many resources, (including Richard), that you shouldn't have problems. Take the plunge, and good luck!

There is a 200 and a 175 currently be parted out on ebay. Keep a close watch and you'll find alot of stuff you may need. Good luck with your resto. You'll find this community of BSers is very keen to help and hear how things are going. We love to chew on problems of all sorts, so welcome and enjoy the ride!
