Born find
« on: October 16, 2010, 06:07:02 PM »
Hello,

This is a barn find, I would like to know everything to know about this bike (age, model, what parts are original, what is custom, etc.).  Any help would be much appreciated!  ???

Thanks! Scott

The only for sure Bridgestone component I see is the gas tank. I think the engine is on European design/origin. Does the carburetor say Amal, Dell-Orto, etc

Possibly... the motor might be from a BSA Bantam.

Look at this link and compare the timing side cover and the layout for the shifter and kick start lever:

I'm diggin' that front end.

Something isn't right, one of these pictures may be reversed...

Something isn't right, it's like the motor is layed out backwards. And you would think it would say "BSA" on it somewhere. I don't think its a Villiers.

None of the cycle parts look familiar either. The rims, handle bar levers, the front brake, I don't know what they are from.

It's gonna be hard to get an extended warranty on that... ;D

Check it out.... it's a left hand shift. Who had left hand shift two strokes back in the day? That's not some old oddball Indian or such?

I think I found it.... it's a Harley Hummer:

Scott, do a Google search for Harley Hummer, there's too much to list here.

Here is a bunch of pics, yours appears to be an early one with the rubber band girder front end:

Looks like you've found a pre-1951 Harley. Now if you can find the rest of the BS 90 in that barn. Good Luck
