Title: Hurricane
Post by: AlanJohn on March 20, 2019, 04:07:12 AM
Good morning.
Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to remove the painted cover on the 175 hurricane rear shock absorbers surely it can't be difficult but l don't see an easy way without damaging the paint hopefully l'm missing the obvious.

Morning Alan
I have a set of shocks and I will have a look at the weekend how to dismantle them and I will let you know I haven't done one for a while thank you Steve

            Alan,
If they are built like the 350 units, simply unscrew the alloy top mounting eye first. They are usually not that  tight, the cover acts as a lock nut. If you need a bit more torque to separate/unscrew the top eye use a rubber strap wrench on the cover to avoid damage. The cover should then screw off by hand.                                                  Brian.

Knew there was an article on the site showing how to do this, here's a link
