Just grabbed a GTO engine.
« on: August 03, 2021, 12:18:34 AM »
Hey all. My name is John and I'm pretty new to the Bridgestone train. I actually just moved to Minneapolis for work and since the tempo of my new job is much slower than my last one, I figured it was time to start a hobby I've wanted to do forever.

I always thought some of the older 2 stroke bikes were cool, and once I ran into a guy selling an engine(with carbs!) for one, I grabbed it up pretty quickly. It's not exactly complete, but it's more parts than I had before, especially for a bike that's near non existent. I'm now about 300$ more poor but excited to get started.

If ya have spare parts or just tips about rebuilding these engines, please let me know; I generally only do 4 stroke stuff.

John; Welcome, and sorry for the belated reply to your post. How about a quick update on your acquisition. Any luck on moving it forward? I know a couple of people back in the MSP area that might be able to help you out.

Unfortunately, no. The engine is missing its side plates, so I can't even mount the carbs. I wish I could find a bike to go with this, or someone who was actually in need. It's not locked up, and appears that it would fire, if it had everything else.

Hi John,
Welcome to Bridgestone. I have a lot of parts, give me a call and maybe I can help with what you need.
