Opportunity to buy BS 200
« on: October 27, 2012, 09:42:56 AM »
I've found a 200 for sale locally.  The owner claims it's 75% restored, whatever that's suppose to mean.  The bike doesn't run and he is asking $200 US for it.  I'm thinking about picking it up.

I don't see how you could go wrong at that price, even for just parts. :)

It's been available since June.  My GTR sure would like a friend in the stable, right now it's surrounded by Suzukis.

Its what I would call a golden opportunity. Even if it is blue. Does it have a good title?  Mark.

That's the kicker, no title.  BUT he did say all I'd have to do is call the Highway Patrol, they run the VIN, and then IF it comes back clean, they'll issue a replacement title...

Well, talked to the future Mrs. and she said if I want it I can get it.  If I can aquite a title I'll fix it up after my GTR.  If not, I could use some of the wiring harnesses on my 350 and the rest I can part-out.  Come on payday.

It's not really asking for approval.  I just find it best to clear larger purchases(money and size wise), fewer supprises means fewer fights.  I hate people who just pop in and say "look at waht I bought."  I try to stay open and honest.  I learned that from my first marriage...

Edit:  I only asked becasue I already have 4 motorcycles, a three wheeler, a truck, and a car.  This is by far an unnecessary purchase.

I agree  it's always best to keep her in the loop,  it makes for a far better understanding of how us guys work.

I know if hard to believe but some people do not have the understanding of how us guys, always need just one more.

My Donna seems to collect purses, while I am not into them, I always say how neat her latest one is.  But seeing
her collect purses, I do understand one big advantage to them.  You can put a lot of purses in a closet.  Kind of
hard to do with motorcycles or autos.

Hey sorry, didn't know you were already experienced. I just pay mine off. She gets 40 bucks when I buy a bike and 40 more when I sell one. ;D
