He probably put the $100 in the title just to get people to look at the ad. He then says he'll take the best offer. His mistake is not putting it on eBay where it'll generate much more interest.

maybe he did once i put a bike on ebay with a ridiculous reserve  before i sold it. just to see what people are willing to pay then i took the best offer
