RayK......You're referencing the late BS bikes of BS Tailung to Tas Tanaka, who ceased ops in '62. Is there a connection I'm unaware of? Thanks.

Thanks for the link. It's fascinating. I was never aware of the company at all, and everything I'd read to date credits BS Tailung after the cease of production in '71. So apparently there was another line being carried by Rockford earlier in the US? I'll do more reading. Fascinating history. Thanks.

Old BS guy
I think BS Tailung in Taiwan took over Bridgestone tooling for the 50 & 90cc engines. I have bought many nos repro 50cc and 90cc parts on eBay from Thailand which were marked as made in Taiwan. So I summise that Graham Weekes was in error attributing the 60 and 100cc to Taiwan. My Chibi was clearly marked ' Made in Japan' on the serial number tag and had 'Chibi by Tas Motor' written on the tank.
I am confident that this information is correct.
