Title: Part wanted for my GTR, it's rocking horse sht
Post by: Colin on February 28, 2015, 12:43:29 PM
Hi Guys,
I have rewired my GTR and was nearly ready to fill her up with fuel ,2 stroke oil  and engine oil but could not get the neutral light and 5th gear light working, after metering the full harness and then eventually stripping the neutral switch I found the little plate in there (part  number 23 1762-8001 , Neutral switch contact plate) has fell apart and is no longer able to contact the 2 little copper contacts on the switch housing, does anybody have a spare one they can throw in the post first class airmail asap, paypal ???
Colin.

Hi Colin,
Those little contact plates are delicate. On the engine I've just stripped I thought , great, I've got a usable contact under the plastic cover. Tried screwdriver on the screw but wouldn't move, so put the impact driver on it and gave it a light tap. The spring lock washer dug in and turned the contact to the left, shearing off the locating lug !!. Damn.  The new one will be going back with a plain washer.

Colin, long shot but is the contact plate not the same one as in your DT175?

The 175 parts manual shows it being the one used on serial #'s after 16W.

Oh boy! a chance to have both bikes torn down!...lol
The 350 part does have an 8001 PN extention which would make one suspicious they might be the same. (1762-8001)

Hi Sye,
Thanks for looking for me, unfortunately it's not the case I'm after there is a small copper plate secured by one Phillips screw which is not part of the case itself and mine is broke  :'(

Colin - If you are talking about the little copper finger at the end of the shifter drum and you cannot get one from Richard let me know.
