Thanks Steve! Here in Missouri fireworks are legal so we have already had a bunch of people blow themselves up. In my little town we have fireworks tents everywhere, and you can judge the economy by how far the discounts have gone. They have to stop selling by 10PM tomorrow, so they have sort of a "sunset" clause built into their business. If sales are slow and it looks like they will have a bunch left they really start to mark the stuff down.
M80's, cherry bombs, and quarter sticks are illegal here but curiously everyone has them. Not much government regulation of these stands. One clown wrapped a bunch of sparklers around a quarter stick and it blew up (she was probably smoking a ciggy). She's in an induced coma in a local hospital. Another guy blew has hand off, no more cheap dates for him....
On a happier note we have had a pair of Bald Eagles move into one of our county parks. I've seen one of them, they are majestic birds. My cat thinks he can take it though....
