First time owner of a Bridgestone
« on: July 03, 2012, 05:34:10 PM »
Hi all,
My name is Lyle, and I'm from Colorado. Just wanted to give a little info about myself before I start asking questions! I'm and avid collector of Vintage Japanese Motorcycle's as well as a member of VJMC, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to pick up a Bridgestone. My current collection has only Honda's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's and Suzuki's. At this time there are over 50 bikes in this collection. I do all my own wrenching and try to keep most of them ready to ride. (I'm retired but this hobby keeps me very busy) While I consider myself knowledgeable about the big four classics from the '60s I feel a little behind the curve in studying up about Bridgstone. Some sort of Bridgestone 90 was the first bike I ever rode at my uncle's ranch in Neb. when I was barely 13yrs old. He just gave me the keys and said have fun. (that was my favorite uncle) ;)
So back to my newest aquisition, a 50 Sport with only 261 miles showing on the odometer. Haven't started it yet, but it has a nice big blue spark ;D I'm not sure of the year but it is titled as a 1970 but I can't find anything to indicate they were made after '69. Frame serial number is 13A029371 if that helps anyone. I'm involved with quite a few forums so as soon as I can figure out the picture thing I'll post some to show the good and bad of this little screamer (I hope).
Hoping to find new friends here with like interests.
Regards,
Lyle - AKA "Rizingson"

I love workin on the old bikes, too. I'm sure there is a post on this site that has the chart to tell you the year of your bike and I'm sure someone will eventually tell you, I just can't seem to find it. I had an uncle who gave me the keys to a Superhawk when I was 15 and let me keep it a few months until I guess it cooled off enough for him to sell it. :) Welcome to the site.
