I currently have the original petcock off of my 175. It just doesn't flow enough fuel and in about 4 miles I the engine will starve for gas and die. Anyrate, when you take the petcock apart, you will see that there are 2 holes on the lever inside face that will mate up to 2 holes on the main body of the petcock. Is the gasket material between the lever and main body made of cork or rubber. Also, when you have a petcock that will leak fuel through it, even when the petcock is off, is it because the nut that holds on the petcock lever could be snugged up a little? This nut has 2 holes in that a snap ring tool can bite so you can turn it loose or tight. Also, the main fuel pipe that extends up into the tank is cracked full length. Is it swedged into the base of the petcock? Can I drill out what is left of the cracked pipe and press in a new one? This petcock seems fairly simple and I am sure that it can be rebuilt.
