labyrinth seal
« on: April 26, 2012, 10:22:58 PM »
I took the crankcase halves apart to check things out better on my GTR, glad i did.  There was crud on the bottoms of both sides of the flywheel depressions in the case. The labyrinth seal looks to be okay as far as i can see, however, is there something like a silicone sealant i could put over it to make sure there is no small leakage for the labyrinth seal? or is this me just being paranoid about it? I read the thread on the crankcase halves sealants and i will try to get the Yamabond, i am not familiar with the sealant, but it does stay pliable ( which is what i believe to be desirable) and not 'harden'? thanks for any info. bsforever

bsforever,
I would use a small amount of clear silicone sealant on the o-ring 09066-120 if it is in good shape etc.
That's what i use .
Thanks.
Steve.
