Description: These plates were milled with the use of a c.a.m. program and a c.n.c. milling machine. You can bet the originals were torched from a piece of farm steel and finished by hand with a file. Then,more than likely,arc welded in place. The downside to technology in this case is the potential cost. The originals were done so inexpensively at the time,it may be hard to affix any cost to them. The new versions employed the aid of $100k+ in equipment alone. Design labor goes for @ $45./hour,and a nice clean piece of virgin steel can run you $10.-$20.00 easy,(if you don't have any connections for end scrap,etc).
