Rain today and all week and the 200's.

It must be raining every where because there's a lot of traffic on the site today.   

I have a 71 200 that I hope to work on some day.  I really like the looks of that year's 200.

Any other 200 fans out there???  Any one have any performance data on them and or the 175's.  I would like to know where they stand against the 350's in the quarter?

I don't think there is a possibility that the 200 could come very close to the 350 in a drag race. I owned a new 175 and I know it wouldn't, but never rode a 200. I don't think it's additional 1 or 2 hp would give it such a boost that it would have a chance? of competing with a 350 running on two cylinders.

I have never seen a 200, but I can clearly recall the day that I traded in my 175 for a 350 GTR.  The same shifting and throttle habits learned on the 175 really straightened out my arms on the 350.  There was a huge difference in performance.

I know what you mean Charlie. It was a totally bad to the bone day when I traded my 175 for that monster GTR. You would have to experience it to know how truely awesome it was.

Shoot.... you guys went from a 175 to the 350, that's nothing. I went from a Honda 90 to the 350 GTO....good thing I owned more than 1 pair of pants at the time!

Moonpup, I would love to have watched you take that first ride on that GTO! What I'm tryin to express is what it was like owning the 175 and becoming one with it. A super nice and fast bike in and above it's class.Then one day you see it and straddle it. A kicked up, blown out, muscelized version of a 175. Same color and style, dual rotary valve engine. But a pumped up monster of what you were so used to ridin. A transformation experience that can't easily be put in words. You just have to experience it. I've owned 50+ bikes since and nothin has compared to it. That's why I made the post I did which went missin. I guess I offended somebody but it's sort of a comical insult to me to compare a 175 to a 350 in performance. (No offense Harry) My 175 was one of my favorites but that Monster GTR was and is my all time favorite motorcycle.

Bikenstein, I remember the thrill very well.  

But back to the topic of Harry's thread, I think you might have misunderstood Harry's initial post. He in no way was comparing the 175 or 200 to the 350's, he was just curious as to what the performance numbers were for the 175/200's so he might see HOW those numbers would compare.

Big difference.

My GTR was the first bike I really rode. For some reason my dad wouldn't let me ride his 175DT. He said if I wanted to ride I had to get my own. Funny, he let my older brother ride the 175....
Oh well, we both still own our Bridgestones.
