200 speedo cable
« on: February 27, 2021, 07:09:46 PM »
Still working on my 200 SS. I had thought of using 175 light and combined speedo but now thinking to go back original. I have looked thru info and thinking that the cable on a 200 would be longer. Can anyone confirm that for me and advise a stock number if it is not the same as a 175 ? Seems as it would be longer and a different number. Thanks to all for advice and parts I have been getting!

BS 175/200 Parts Catalogue, page 52 has the speedometer cable for a
BS 200 RS or SS as 6171 - 8200. There is one on ebay for $69.99.

Randy , thanks for answer. I have looked at that one but it is black. In all my research and pictures on line on a 175 or a 200 all cables are grey. The only cables I know to be black are the 350s. Being that the 350 and the 200s speedo would be roughly at the same height I would think it would work but I do not want to mix colors. I am guessing swap meet man may have a mis labeled cable. Anyone have a comment on color and correctness or not ?

Scott,

You are right the cables on a 200 are grey, like they are on a 175.
He has it wrong on ebay. You can look in this site in the 1970 dealers
brochure and see the 200 they have pictured. You can find it under
downloads. It has grey cables.

Hope that helps.
