Apologies if I've mis-understood your post.
The driven gear should simply slide off the gearbox input shaft once the crankcase inner cover has been removed, no force required.
If you are refering to the clutch basket, once the ring nut is removed, it is only held in place by 'stiction' due to its oil seal, an Oring and a close fit on the splines. Manual shows it being removed using the service tool puller. It can also be pushed off using 6mm screws in the 3 holes at the back of the basket but go evenly and steady, it is pushing against the inner cover and will leave 3 marks in the alloy.
Once it has been removed, the basket can usually be waggled off the splines with your fingers, if you ever need to remove it again.
