350 Tail Light Refector

Sorry for any bother guys, but I have another little question. I found in the tail light assembly a hemispherical hood around the bulb which must act as an light intensifier. It was swaged unto the tail light back plate so it was not removable, so I cannot account why it was on only two of six assemblies I have. Also, the parts manual does not show them. Any story on this?

Hi,

The answer is that Bridgestone modified the tail light part way through the run to include a polished Reflector behind the bulb. There was a Service letter issued detailing the change, but as the early and late part were entirely interchangeable, BS didn't bother to  list the tow types or change the part number.

Clearly, you have two late type and 4 early type assemblies.
