Title: Greetings From Iowa
Post by: Moto Pascale on September 28, 2019, 04:49:42 PM
Hello All,
I run a small motorcycle fabrication shop in my spare time and I've recently volunteered to do some work on a BS90 Trail for a "friend of a friend" type situation. The owner managed to snap the kick start shaft clean off the side of the engine and there are a few miscellaneous parts that need to be replaced.

Since the kick start shaft needs to replaced I'll be splitting the engine case in order to do so. I have a kick start shaft in my possession from a TMX 100 and was wondering if anyone could confirm if this kick start shaft would work in the BS90? From my understanding, there are a lot of common parts between the two but some confirmation on this one would be greatly appreciated.

I'll do my best to document the process of bringing this old gal back to life and should have a separate post started in the next few days. For now, here is a picture of the bike as she currently stands.

Thanks for the read!

The parts and service manuals are available to download under the Downloads section of this site.  There are two different kickstart shafts, one for the non-oil injection engines and a different one for those with oil injection. The TMX was oil injection, and it appears your bike is also (I see an oil tank in the photo.)

Richard Clark, owner of this forum, has  good selection of parts, but some things are out of stock as  might be expected after 50 years.
