The BS100G/P and TMX was fitted with screw adjusters at the handlebar end, something which the BS90 or BS100 Sport never had. Consequently, the free length of inner cable was greater on the 100 cables.
Also, the early pre-mix BS90 had a slightly different clutch operating lever set-up on the motor end and I think the length of inner cable was different on these as well.
If you are adept with a soldering iron, it is relatively easy to shorten an inner cable if necessary. You just need to heat the nipple, and slide it down to the correct position on the cable. Then cut off the excess inner cable, splay the ends out in to the nipple and re-solder it.
(If you haven't done this before I wouldn't recommend trying it on a brake cable. If a resoldered clutch nipple pulls off it's annoying, but if a resoldered brake nipple pulls off when you need the brakes it could be a little more serious!)
