 Look at the case where it has been "relieved" over the countershaft. This was done to accomodate a 18 tooth countershaft sprocket. The transmission was also modified to have first gear only for hillclimb. Bike also has a 38 tooth rear sprocket. Geared to the moon you call it. Also in the photo are the rotary valves.  Steve has done an amazing job of cleaning this grody stuff up. Crank is in nice shape and it will be great to have the transmission fully functional again. Pictures courtesy of Steve Reed.

On Marks engine i got the crankcases vapour blasted and new seals etc.
We got some used gearbox parts so i am ready to put the crankcases
Back together.

When you fit the shift fork check the clearance between the crankcase and the eye of the fork i have seen it rub on the crankcase.
Not on every engine, if that is the case you can grind a little bit of the end of shift fork eye where  the fork guide pin goes etc.
